It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife. However little known the feelings or views of such a man may be on his first entering a neighbourhood, this truth is so well fixed in the minds of the surrounding families, that he is considered the rightful property of some one or other of their daughters.
“My dear Mr. Bennet,” said his lady to him one day, “have you heard that Netherfield Hall is let at last?”

A dark reading mode for PDFs that works entirely in your browser.
PDF dark mode swaps the glaring white sheet for a soft dark one. Text stays sharp, glare goes away, and long sessions stop feeling like staring at a lamp. Everything runs in your browser. Open a file, pick a tone, and read — the document is never uploaded. No accounts, no page limits, no watermarks.
Choose Classic, Warm, Blue or Green, zoom when you need detail, and close the file when you are done. Your original PDF stays untouched on your device. Whether you are reviewing contracts at night, studying for an exam, or simply prefer a calmer screen, Dark Reader keeps the focus on the words — not the brightness of the page.
The themes are applied only while you read: nothing is written back into the file, so you can share the same PDF later without worrying that a dark version was saved by mistake. Drag another document in whenever you need a quieter page.
Dark Reader is built for the PDFs you already have. Open a report, a textbook or a scanned manual, and it opens in the same dark tone you chose. Pages are drawn as you move through them, so even a long file stays responsive. If the room gets brighter or darker, switch between Classic, Warm, Blue, Green and OLED black without reopening the document.
Fast, free, and private. Everything happens on your device, with no sign-up.
Rendering happens on your device. Contracts, papers and notes stay exactly where they are.
No sign-up and nothing to install. Open the page, drop a file, and start reading.
Warm, blue, green and OLED tones reduce glare so evenings with a thick PDF feel lighter.
No page limits, no watermarks, no account wall. Use it as often as you like.
Sharp text and steady zoom keep a 300-page report as easy to read as a single page.
Classic, Warm, Blue, Green and OLED sit in one menu. Change the tone when the light in the room changes.
Three steps from opening a file to reading it comfortably.
What happens to your file from the moment you open it.
The reader uses PDF.js, an open-source engine that draws each page on a canvas inside your browser tab. The file is read from your device and is never sent to a server.
Classic, Warm, Blue, Green and OLED change how the page is shown on screen. The PDF itself is not rewritten, so the file you saved stays exactly as it was.
Long documents load on demand. Zoom and page navigation work the same way for a five-page memo and a five-hundred-page manual, and memory use stays manageable.
Quick answers about privacy, devices and how the reader works.
No. The reader runs on PDF.js in your browser, so the file is handled only on your computer or phone. Nothing is sent to our servers, and there are no accounts that could store a copy. You can check this yourself: open the network panel in your browser while loading a file, and you will see no upload request.
Yes. Any modern mobile browser can open the page and load a PDF, and the layout adapts to smaller screens. Pinch to zoom works as usual, and the dark tone is applied the same way as on desktop. Very large files may take a moment longer to draw on older devices, because more memory is needed.
Yes. Pages are drawn on demand, so the first page appears quickly and the rest follow as you scroll. This keeps memory use lower than drawing the whole document at once. For a 300-page report, use the page arrows to jump around and the counter to keep your place.
For now it is a viewer: the dark tone is applied while you read and the original file is not changed. A convert option that saves a darkened copy is planned, so you will be able to keep a dark version as a separate file. Until then, your original PDF stays exactly as it was.
No. The PDF reader works on its own, right on this page. The extension is optional and adds dark themes to the other sites you visit, such as articles, documentation and forums. Install it only if you want that wider coverage.
Classic, Warm, Blue, Green and OLED black, plus the original colours if you want the page back the way it was. You can switch while reading, and the new tone is applied to the open document straight away. Warm tones suit evenings, while Classic or Green keep text crisp in daylight.
Yes. There are no accounts, page limits or watermarks, and nothing to pay for the reader itself. The Chrome and Edge extension is free as well.
The browser extension turns the pages you visit into a calm, dark view. It works on your device, needs no account and can be switched off with one click.
